“Lucky Stars” is a Block of the Month (BOM) skill builder. You’ll be making half-square triangles, flying geese, and square-in-square units. Use of rotary cutter and accurate 1/4″ seams will help ensure success. First-class will be orientation, discussion of fabrics, and techniques. Before subsequent classes, cutting will be done at home if you are comfortable doing so. This class is estimated to last 10 or 11 months. Some sewing may be needed at home depending on the month. This is a class for confident beginners and above, and there will be extra instruction along the way. One bonus is the stitch-and-flip method, giving you many extra half-square triangle possibilities which will be explained. Supplies for the class: sewing machine and 1/4″ foot, thread, pins, scissors, ruler, rotary cutter, the pattern for finished 72″x84″ quilt, and the fabric listed on the pattern.
