Let’s take the fear out of free-motion quilting! We will begin with learning a few tips and tools, and then we’ll make samples on quilt sandwiches. Our goal is to relax and have fun. With free motion quilting, it is all about practice! This is a class for those with some experience. Supplies needed: sewing machine w/cord and foot control for your machine (must be able to lower feed dogs); thread, basting pins, scissors; 6″ x 24″ ruler; rotary cutter; free-motion or darning foot; single hole sewing plate for your machine; sketch pad and pencil; Machingers gloves to help move fabric; five or six quilt sandwiches: muslin top and bottom and cotton batting (you can spray baste them together or pin baste, whatever your preferred method would be. If in doubt, we will prepare them during class.). Also bring: contrasting cotton thread (so your stitches will show) and extra sewing machine needles.
